POP3 is an email protocol used to retrieve email messages from a mail server to a user’s device. When a user accesses their mailbox using a POP3 client, such as an email application, the messages are downloaded from the server to the device, and typically, they are removed from the server afterward, although this behavior can be configured differently in some cases.
